Holy smoke! Why the Church uses incense at Mass

The Catechism reminds us that prayer involves much more than our soul, “Whether prayer is expressed in words or gestures, it is the whole man who prays” (CCC 2562).

Consider your response and reaction the next time incense is used at Mass.  Do you let it draw you more deeply into the mystery of the Mass as Heaven on Earth or is it simply a bother?  How can our negative attitudes toward the physical elements of the Mass display a possible iconoclastic attitude in opposition to our faith?
