Cardinal Burke: ‘I hope to continue to be able to suffer for the faith’

Cardinal Burke receives Nail-of-Christ award for defending faith, life, and family.

Of all the current Cardinals, Burke has shown himself to be the most faithful to the Church in the face of attacks internally, externally and even frequently from his earthly boss.  We must recognize the extent to which his voice of faith and truth is being silenced.

To have fallen so far in office by the hand of the Pope who should be supporting him shows us that the call for collegiality, just like we hear liberals crying for diversity, is a ploy that hides the demand for obedience and submission.  The “coexistence” mentality is a joke and hides the desire for dominance.

May we pray for and follow the suffering example of this disciple of Christ.
