Why the De Facto ‘Schism’ is Actually a Catholic Generation Gap

I just met a group of college campus ministers who were in their 60’s. They were a good hearted group but I immediately wondered how their life experiences made them appropriate for their work.  We don’t need just warm bodies we need people appropriate for the task.  How many times did you have a 60 year old sitting in your dorm room unless it was your parents?

Our youth are leaving the Church in droves.  Stats show that by college age 80% of our baptized children are no longer active Catholics.  I wonder if they are leaving the Church or leaving the liberal 60’s generation running the Church?
