Help! A Catholic convert misses all the “feelings” from her old Protestant church

As a convert and someone who spent 12 years upfront as a back up singer for a large denominational community worship team I can relate.  What made me step away is the very idea mentioned here…emotionalism.

I can’t tell you how many times the music team stepped off the stage after an hour of praise and worship and judged our experience of the Holy Spirit by whether the crowd was worked up or not.  Funny how Catholics are denograted for supposedly dry outward liturgical practices but the presence of the Spirit is determined by others by their emotional state.  Does that make sense?

The answer provided is excellent and what I’ve found to be the true solution…prayer and study.
